Evaluation of nanobubble technology for the reduction of suspended solids and turbidity in Lake Amatitlán, Guatemala

Lake Amatitlán in Guatemala is accelerated process of contamination and artificial eutrophication, having a high amount suspended solids, these cause the appearance water to be turbulent. The purpose research was evaluate ability oxygen nanobubble technology minimize all particulate matter reduce turbulence. investigation consisted taking sample 33 m³ with organic load cyanobacteria, Microcystis aeruginosa. Oxygen applied for eight days operating two hours 45 minutes per day, making total 19 hours. Six samples were obtained, first control sample. results obtained favorable recorded reduction solids from 73.39% 64.05%. final compared quality standards oligotrophic algos Mexico Peru.
